MVP · Built for client, pending launch
Carhaus
Private rides booking platform — multi-leg trip builder, distance-based pricing engine with signed quotes, admin approval flow, and email notifications. A complete product built for a client evaluating launch.
Context
A private transportation service wanted to take bookings online — trips with multiple legs, custom extras, and pricing that reflects real distance and time of day. The owner was evaluating whether to launch, so the product had to be real enough to support that decision.
The problem
Pricing a multi-leg private trip isn't a flat rate — it depends on distance, night hours, minimum fares, and per-leg extras. Quotes had to stay consistent between preview and booking, and couldn't be tampered with between client and server.
The approach
Built pricing as a pure, tested library: a distance provider abstraction with timeouts, a night multiplier, and minimum-fare rules. Every quote is signed with an HMAC token, so the price the user sees is the price they pay. On top of that: the booking flow, an admin approval queue, email notifications, and reusable trip templates.
The outcome
A complete, tested MVP — from quote to admin approval — ready to launch. The work stands on its own regardless of the client's decision: it's a fully functional product, not a mockup.
